85,000 adults waiting for dentists in NSW


Some 85,000 NSW adults are currently on the public dental waiting list in NSW and it could be two or three years before they see a dentist. Of those, about 30,000 are in rural, remote or regional areas. A parliamentary inquiry investigating health outcomes and access in rural and regional NSW heard on Friday there is a shortage of dentists outside the cities.

Two Griffith University dentistry students have been named recipients of 2021 Golden Key International Honor Society Scholarships. Third-year Bachelor of Dental Health Science student Tiarnee Iddles was awarded a 2021 Undergraduate Achievement Scholarship, while Master of Dentistry candidate Monica Galvin received the 2021 Graduate Scholarship.

Dentist presents fake arm for vaccine to get pass


A dentist in Italy faces possible criminal charges after trying to receive a coronavirus vaccine in a fake arm made of silicone. A nurse in the northern city of Biella, Filippa Bua, said she could tell right away that something was off when a man presented the phony limb for a shot on Thursday.
