Court says Melbourne dentist can seek user details from Google over bad review


Dr Matthew Kabbabe, a dental surgeon in Northcote, is seeking to sue a user known only as CBsm 23 for defamation over a negative review of his business in which the user claimed the dentist made the experience "extremely awkward and uncomfortable" and the procedure was "a complete waste of time".

Scientists analyse gut microbes of almost 1,500 Victorians to figure out what makes us tick


Melbourne Dental School senior lecturer Samantha Byrne said tooth decay in Australian children was "a big problem" with a quarter of children starting school with untreated tooth decay. Dr Byrne said while the study was not trying to answer a question related to oral health, it was a step towards characterising what our microbial communities look like to see if there were any relationships between our diets and oral microbes.

Smile Squad To Visit Thousands More Students In 2020


Tens of thousands more Victorian school students will enjoy brighter smiles this year as the next phase of the Andrews Labor Government’s landmark Smile Squad free dental program gets underway. Acting Premier James Merlino joined Minster for Health Jenny Mikakos today to announce a further 146 new primary and secondary schools will be invited to join the Smile Squad program this year.
