Free dental will cost government $11.6 billion each year, report finds


Every year scores of Australians don't go to the dentist because of the cost. Now, in a new parliamentary report, the cost of giving people universal access to free dental has been carefully calculated: almost $12 billion every year.

Driven by the Greens, who have long rallied for better and more affordable access to dental care, the Parliamentary Budget Office has modelled eight options that would expand Medicare into dental, revolutionising oral health nationwide.
