The Australasian Section of the International College of Dentists (ICD) has announced the inaugural ‘Young Dentists Volunteerism Grant’ which will be awarded in 2019. This grant is a collaborative initiative with the Australian and New Zealand Dental Associations.

Victorians lose their teeth as wait lists for public dentists blow out


Poor and disadvantaged Victorians are losing their teeth after long delays to see public dentists, as waiting lists for state services blow out. Dentists recommend that people get a check up at least once every year or more regularly if they are at higher risk of decay or gum disease. But if you are pensioner, health card holder or refugee living in Victoria you can expect to wait an average of 32.7 months in-between visits, equivalent to almost three years.

This City Ceased Water Fluoridation In 2007 And (Predictably) There's Been A Massive Rise In Tooth Decay


Juneau, Alaska, may want to rethink their policy on water fluoridation after a paper published in BMC Oral Health found that the average number of carie procedures per child under six has jumped from 1.55 to 2.52 per year since the city voted to stop adding fluoride to the water supply in 2007.
