The nation’s oral health has yet again shown to be of no importance to the Morrison government with scant mention of oral health made in last night’s 2022 pre-election Budget. The failure to address the declining oral health of many older, poor and disadvanataged.

After 16 years without teeth, a stranger's donation changed Jane's smile


Getting a new set of teeth has been life changing for Jane Bridges. Ms Bridges says she knows of people on the dental procedures waitlist who cannot work due to their pain. Independent MP Andrew Wilkie says the federal government should foot the bill for adults' dental care...After an ABC News story on her plight, a stranger in Queensland contacted Ms Bridges saying she wanted to pay for her to have a set of teeth made. "It brought me to tears straight away," she said.

Reducing the oral health waiting list with new graduate dentists and therapists


Tasmanians on the oral health waiting list are set to benefit from 11 new graduate dentists and therapists as the Tasmanian Liberal Government continues to deliver on our commitment to provide an additional 20,000 dental appointments statewide. Importantly, the hiring of these graduates as part of the Government’s one-off $5 million investment will account for more than half of the additional 20,000 appointments, ensuring that Tasmanians waiting for dental care can access it sooner.
