Dental practices witness return of scam emails


Email scammers are an ever-present problem for all kinds of business but in recent months, dental practices have witnessed the unwelcome return of a particular type of email. (For an indication of the persistence of this approach, read this 2009 Scamwatch post.)

On the surface, these emails present as reasonably straightforward. A person, who identifies as the primary caregiver, asks for a quote for a sizable number of people, usually the children in the family, for a full suite of dental treatments.
