SA dental practices move to level 5 restrictions


The South Australian Government has announced that dental practices in the state must not perform routine dental treatment and that all patients with acute dental concerns be directed to emergency care centres, in alignment with Level 5 in the ADA’s Dental Service Restrictions framework.

Revised advertising guidelines are now available


Health practitioners are encouraged to check and correct their advertising to make sure it complies with revised guidelines released today. The National Boards and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) have jointly revised the Guidelines for advertising a regulated health service (the guidelines). The revised guidelines take effect on Monday 14 December.

Obituary: Lasting legacy as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon


Robert Malcolm Cook AM, MDSc. (Melb), FDSRCS, FRACDS. As a highly accomplished oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Bob Cook was a major figure and leader of the specialty nationally and subsequently, internationally. He was highly respected as a teacher and mentor to many trainees and junior surgeons.
