Australians are paying an average of $230 for a standard check-up and clean at the dentist – or up to $300 when they visit a new clinic – as consumers continue to pay the bulk of the country’s dental costs.

Dentists and doctors call on Palaszczuk government to mandate fluoride in Queensland drinking water


About 90 per cent of Australians can access fluoridated water, compared to 72 per cent of Queenslanders. Local councils can opt out of fluoridation, with some doing so on "principle". Dentists, doctors and public health specialists are calling on the government to end the disparity.
